CM Punk wrestled his first televised WWE match in a decade back in January when he entered the 30 man Royal Rumble match, but unfortunately for Punk he suffered an injury while trying to punch his ticket to WrestleMania.
Even though CM Punk is currently sidelined due to injury he still has a presence in the wrestling world as he was in attendance for this week’s NXT tapings on Tuesday night.
Booker T talked a little bit about CM Punk on the most recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, and he claimed that he “almost got into it” with CM Punk at NXT.
“I almost had a little run-in with CM Punk. The internet might want to pick that up. Me and CM Punk almost got into it at ‘NXT’ this week … We’ll talk about it later, because they’re going to pick it up and run with it.”
At this point it’s unclear exactly what happened between Booker T and CM Punk as Booker didn’t share many details. However, he did tell his co-host Brad Gilmore that he would tell him more about the run in off the air.
There does not seem to be a definitely timeline for CM Punk’s return just yet, but the former WWE Champion did note following his surgery that he would likely be out for six to eight months.
