Finn Balor and Damien Priest have been the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions since October of 2023 and they put belts on the line against five other teams in a six pack tag team ladder match at WrestleMania 40 on Saturday night.
The Awesome Truth, The New Day, DIY, New Catch Republic and A-Town Down Under all challenged The Judgment Day for the titles on the Grandest Stage of Them All and it was stated ahead of time that the match wouldn’t end until both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles had been retrieved. Before the entrances started the rules were explained and it was shown that the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles were being hung separately.
At one point R-Truth stood in the corner and waited on the tag as Damian Priest and Finn Balor beat down The Miz. Truth got the hot tag then hit the Attitude Adjustment on Finn Balor on a ladder. He pinned Balor and the crowd counted to three. DIY then helped Awesome Truth clear the ring of The Judgment Day and DIY went for the Raw Tag Team Titles while Awesome Truth went for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
Austin Theory and Grayson Waller knocked both teams off then grabbed the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Austin Theory went to grab the Raw Tag Team Titles next, but Xavier Woods stopped him. New Catch Republic then powerbombed Grayson Waller over the top rope through a ladder that was set up horizontally on the mat and the announce table.
DIY and New Catch Republic took each other out then R-Truth entered the empty ring and started climbing toward the Raw Tag Team Titles. JD McDonagh came out of nowhere and knocked Truth off the ladder. McDonagh called Balor into the ring and helped him climb. The New Day showed up and Kofi hit Balor with a steel chair. Woods and Kingston then knocked McDonagh off the ladder. He went through two tables set up at ringside.
Damian Priest then climbed the ladder and he was just about to grab the Raw Tag Team Titles, but Miz stopped him. Priest knocked Miz off the ladder then grabbed a new one. As Priest climbed the ladder again R-Truth knocked him off then threw Priest over the top rope. R-Truth then climbed the ladder and grabbed the Raw Tag Team Titles. The Miz then joined him at the top of the ladder and The Awesome Truth celebrated together.
