Since the brand split WWE has been searching for ways to differentiate the Raw and Smackdown from each other, and Road Dogg is rumored to be the new head writer for the blue team.
However, there are conflicting reports making the rounds, as Top Rope Press reports that Road Dogg has indeed been promoted, but he is not the head writer of SmackDown.
According to the report, although Road Dogg has been promoted, Ryan Ward is still a key player when it comes to putting SmackDown together. Road Dogg’s exact title is unknown at this point, but it’s said to be a “VP” title of sorts, and Ryan Ward now reports directly to Road Dogg.
Word has been going around for several weeks now that Brock Lesnar is going to be working more house shows in the upcoming months. WWE has done this in the past by having him work bigger house shows such as in Chicago where he squashed Rusev. One alleged reason for this is the fact that they don’t have to pay him as much for an appearance if it’s not a televised event. Lesnar still brings in money, whether it’s on TV or not.
PWInsider reports that Brock Lesnar is set to face Big Show at the February 17th live event in Dallas, Texas. Lesnar and Big Show have worked together many times in the past and even traded managers in Paul Heyman back at the 2002 Survivor Series.
Big Show’s match against Shaquille O’Neal for WrestleMania is all but confirmed at this point, so it is unlikely that these two will tangle at the show of shows. Lesnar vs. Big Show is probably just going to be something that they run at house shows for the time being.
