We’re currently on the road to WrestleMania 41 and everyone is waiting to see how the big storylines in WWE will develop over the next few weeks. Ahead of WWE’s biggest show of the year it looks like the company is shaking things up when it comes to creative.
PWInsider is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg Brian James has been named the new co-lead writer for the Friday Night SmackDown brand. The former WWE Tag Team Champion joins John Swikata in heading up creative for the blue brand.
This certainly isn’t the first time Road Dogg has worked on the creative team for SmackDown as it was reported in 2016 that he would be working on the writing team. He was later promoted to one of the lead writers for SmackDown. Following WrestleMania 35 it was reported that he had resigned from the role.
One way or another it will be interesting to see what type of impact the shake up with the writing team has on the blue brand’s storylines moving forward.
Stay tuned for updates.
