WWE Signs Released Superstar To New Contract

Back in April WWE announced coronavirus related budget cuts, and quite a few talents were then released from NXT and the WWE main roster.

Drake Maverick happened to be one of the talents who got released, but WWE still allowed him to compete in the Cruiserweight Title tournament.

Maverick made it to the finals, and this week on NXT he was defeated by El Hijo Del Fantasma who won the tournament and the belt.

Even though Drake Maverick lost the tournament, he didn’t go home empty handed, as he was given a new contract by Triple H.

Recently there had been speculation that WWE was going to re-sign Drake Maverick due to his involvement in the tournament.

It was also recently reported that the company is interested in signing other released stars in the future.
