WWE has been scouring the globe in search for the best talents for a multitude of reasons as of late. Many believe WWE is not only planning on exclusive programming for every region of the world, but they also have plans on forming a women’s tournament much like they did with the United Kingdom Championship Tournament and the Cruiserweight Classic. Regardless of reason, Dave Meltzer reports in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has signed Kairi Hojo to a three-year deal with the company.
The 28-year-old Asian wrestling goddess was one of the top draws in the World Wonder Ring Stardom company in Japan until very recently. Shinsuke Nakamura has been pulling for WWE officials to sign the young female talent for quite some time now, so that should more than vet her in regards of ability.
She wrestled as Doku in Lucha Underground for a while and although she initially said she had turned down WWE’s offer, she has apparently changed her mind. This new acquisition is a huge blow to the all-women Stardom company, but it is a very good get for the company.
Her move set is crisp and her diving elbow is absolutely beautiful. With WWE bulking up their ranks as they prepare to filter more women up to the main roster eventually, she will make an exceptional addition to NXT where they will polish her up even more to prepare her for an eventual jump to Raw or SmackDown Live.
