It’s been almost four years since The Shield made their debut on the WWE main roster. It’s crazy how time flies isn’t it?
Nowadays all three members are big players in the WWE and Dean Ambrose is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Monday night after Raw Dean Ambrose joined Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for a podcast on the WWE Network and he spoke a little bit about the beginnings of The Shield.
Ambrose told Austin that originally there were plans for The Shield to literally carry shields to the ring, but ultimately they decided against it. Ambrose says that he was into it at first but he’s glad they didn’t use them because he thinks they would have looked stupid and that he would have tripped and fallen while trying to get in the ring.
