For years Jeff Hardy has been saying that he wanted to compete in a Hell in a Cell match before he retires, and Sunday night he finally crossed the match off his bucket list when he faced off against Randy Orton.
Hardy had been teasing something special for the match, and it came to conclusion when he fell through a table after hanging from the ceiling of the cage.
Randy Orton picked up the win, but Jeff Hardy had to be stretchered out of the arena.
Following his brutal Hell in a Cell match against Orton, WWE shared the following medical update on Jeff Hardy:
“Following his brutal Hell in a Cell Match against Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy was tended to by EMTs at ringside. Cathy Kelley then reported on Instagram that Hardy complained of severe abdominal pains backstage, prompting WWE medical personnel to have him transported to a local medical facility.
Michael Cole later reported that Hardy began coughing up blood while en route to the facility. Once that subsided, Cathy Kelley went on to report that Hardy would be kept overnight for further observation.”
