Rusev has been the hottest topic in the world of professional wrestling over the last few days after he was pulled from a casket match with The Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble event and replaced by Chris Jericho.
There’s been a lot of speculation regarding Rusev’s status due to the fact that he was pulled from the match, and he’s removed all mentions of WWE from his Twitter page while he proceeds to post cryptic tweets.
However, it was noted on WWE.com that Rusev was pulled from the match because Lana refused to let him fight in a casket match, and it was recently reported that WWE is using all of the speculation regarding Rusev’s status to create a social media storyline.
Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated reached out to WWE for comment, and according to Traina, it’s been confirmed that Rusev is still with the company and will be competing in the Greatest Royal Rumble match on April 27.
At least we know that if things do eventually go south between Rusev and WWE, his old League of Nations running mate Wade Barrett is ready to book him, provided he brings his tank along.
