WWE Responds To Claims That AEW Shirts Were Banned From SmackDown Live

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live took place from Jacksonville, FL which also happened to be the location of All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing Rally.

Naturally some fans made their way from the rally to SmackDown Live, and some of them were wearing All Elite Wrestling merchandise.

Two Pro Wrestling Tees employees reported to Pro Wrestling Sheet that they were initially told they weren’t allowed to wear AEW merchandise at SmackDown Live.

However, a video was later posted showing security confirm that the company changed their stance and lifted the ban.

Ryan Satin later took to Twitter to note that a WWE rep claimed there was no directive telling security not to allow people in AEW merch into the building.

“A rep for WWE claims there was no directive telling security to not allow people in All Elite Wrestling merch to enter the building, despite a video existing of security confirming they weren’t allowing fans in AEW merch to enter.”

It will be interesting to see how WWE responds to AEW in the future, as it seems that the company is very much on WWE’s radar even if they are trying to play things cool by denying that the shirts were banned.
