Back in August Adam Cole’s WWE contract expired, and the wrestling world didn’t have to wait long to find out where Cole would end up next. The former NXT Champion made his AEW debut at the All Out pay-per-view, but it was reported that WWE did try to sign him to a new deal.
Fightful Select reports that during negotiations WWE pitched an idea to Adam Cole that would have seen him cut his hair. The idea was brought up in early talks as WWE wanted Cole to bring a new look to the main roster.
The report also notes that Adam Cole let the company know that he wasn’t interested in cutting his hair, and the idea was not discussed again.
It had been rumored that WWE wanted to call Adam Cole up to act as Keith Lee’s manager. Cole recently stated that the idea of becoming Keith Lee’s manager was not pitched to him, but he did confirm that WWE wanted him to change his name.
