Since Triple H took over WWE creative last year the company has been adding wrestlers to the roster and it’s recently been reported that WWE is interested in signing former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White. Hikuleo defeated Jay White in a loser leaves Japan match and there’s been a lot of speculation that White could be WWE bound.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that those who would normally know of major acquisitions during WrestleMania season didn’t know about Jay White’s status with the company.
However, it was said that there’s a much bigger major free agent in play, and internally that free agent is WWE’s priority when it comes to signings. At this point in time the identity of the free agent is unknown.
Jay White isn’t the only NJPW star WWE has expressed interest in as Tama Tonga recently said that WWE has been knocking at his door. With White, Tonga and a major free agent on WWE’s radar it will be interesting to see who ends up joining the company in the months to come.
