The Rock has given fans many memorable moments over the years, but it’s been a while since he’s made an appearance on WWE programming. There’s no denying that The Rock is a busy man nowadays, but it looks like WWE is hoping to book him for a pay-per-view later this year.
It was recently reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the hope is for The Rock to make an appearance at Survivor Series later this year, but at this point an appearance from The Great One has not been locked in. Survivor Series is set to take place from Brooklyn this year, and the company reportedly wants to make it into a major show.
If Rock gets involved with Survivor Series it gives WWE the opportunity to tease a possible match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. It’s being said that if The Rock returns he wants to set a box office record, and that could be done at AT&T Stadium at WrestleMania 38, or the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA at WrestleMania 39.
When there was talk of Roman Reigns vs. The Rock last year the word was that it wouldn’t happen in 2021, but that WWE was shooting for 2022.
