Mandy Rose dropped the NXT Championship to Roxanne Perez on Tuesday night and the next day it was reported that Mandy had been released from her WWE contract.
Fightful Select reports that Mandy Rose had two years left on her contract as she signed a new five year deal with WWE in 2019. It’s also being reported that there were some WWE sources who were trying to leak that Mandy Rose requested her release two weeks ago. However, Fightful noted that they haven’t been given any indication that there’s any truth to Mandy requesting her release.
People close to Mandy Rose noted that she was in good spirits at NXT on Tuesday night and that she was also in good spirits after she was released. It’s being said that things seemed “very hasty” when it came to Rose dropping the title on Tuesday night, and Fightful found out about the title change 15 minutes before NXT went on the air.
Mandy’s Toxic Attraction stable mates Jacy Jayne and Gigo Dolin have gotten several looks on the main roster and have impressed people of influence, but there are no plans to bring Mandy Rose back to the main roster.
