Over the last few weeks there’s been a lot of talk about former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White’s status moving forward. White got the wrestling world talking when Hikuleo defeated him in a Loser Leaves Japan match, and over the weekend Eddie Kingston defeated White in a Loser Leaves NJPW match at Battle in the Valley.
It’s been reported that WWE is interested in signing Jay White, and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE seems to be the frontrunner when it comes to White’s next destination.
“Nobody in WWE has confirmed Jay White coming in, but they are certainly the favorite. One would think if White was going to AEW, he’d be able to work big shows with New Japan and would continue to do so, but they wouldn’t do the loser leaves for good stipulation.”
WWE isn’t the only company interested in signing White as Tony Khan recently confirmed that he would love to work with Jay White. Only time well tell which company White ends up signing with. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
