It’s an interesting time to be a wrestling fan as you never know when a familiar name might jump to another company. Recently there’s been a lot of talk about Malakai Black parting ways with AEW, and it appears that WWE is interested in bringing him back to the company.

PW Torch is reporting that the expiration date on Malakai Black’s deal had been a point of contention as a lot of time was added because of the time he missed due to injury. Black pushed back against the extension and sources are claiming that a deal is in the works, or has already been reached for him to become a free agent soon.

At this point in time it’s not clear when Malakai Black will become a free agent, but people are being told that he won’t be back, and other AEW related side projects involving Black have also been halted.

It’s being said that there are influential people in WWE who are big fans of Black and see him as someone who could potentially become a top singles act. The belief is that he would be welcomed back if he returned to WWE.

Malakai Black was reportedly criticized by his colleagues in AEW as the perception was that he was reluctant to do business, and reluctant to do jobs. It was noted that Black and Tony Khan never developed a rapport.
