There are some impressive wrestlers currently working their way up the ranks in NXT, and no one ever wants to take time off due to injury, but unfortunately injuries do happen at the most inopportune moments.
Sol Ruca has been one of the stars to watch in NXT. However, she recently tore her ACL and she was written off television last week after she was attacked by a mystery person at NXT Spring Breakin’. She confirmed that the injury would require surgery which means that she’ll likely be off TV for quite a while.
WWE apparently had big plans for Sol Ruca that included a big tag team run with Dani Palmer. Dave Meltzer recently noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the idea was for them win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship, but that idea has been scrapped.
“Before her injury, there was talk of making Ruca & Dani Palmer into a major pushed babyface tag team in NXT. They were so high on them there was talk of them getting the NXT tag belts within a few months but that obviously isn’t happening.”
At this point it remains to be seen how WWE will handle the situation with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship as the current champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn were recently drafted to SmackDown.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
