After weeks of anticipation Randy Orton’s mystery caller was finally revealed on SmackDown last week, and it turned out to be none other than Pat McAfee. The reveal was met with a negative reaction from wrestling fans and it appears that WWE will be making some changes moving forward.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that WWE has reworked some of the plans for this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown after the reaction to the storyline involving Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Pat McAfee.
WrestleVotes also says that additional outside involvement that was speculated to be Jelly Roll. It’s being said that the company went back to the drawing board to discuss any possibilities regarding the story.
Sources stated that CM Punk’s comments during his promo on Raw were an indicator of the shift, and plans becoming fluid throughout the week. Punk’s comments were reportedly not part of the plan when Pat McAfee was revealed as the mystery called on Friday.
Ahead of SmackDown this Friday, Pat McAfee recently confirmed that he will be at the show, and he teased that he has some things to say when he said, “I think i have some things to say.”
