It looks like another talent has been let go as Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE has released Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan. According to Meltzer, Donovan was not released due to budget cuts, but rather due to a policy issue. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also confirmed the release.
“Troy ‘Two Dimes’ Donovan of the D’Angelo family was let go yesterday [June 11],” Meltzer reports. “This wasn’t a budget or creative decision, but a policy issue and he was told he may be brought back in a year.”
Donovan signed with WWE back in March after working on the independent scene and he made his debut on the April 8th edition of NXT Level Up. He has previously appeared on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation under the name Cole Karter.
Donovan recently competed at NXT In Your House on June 4th when he teamed up with Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo had to defeat Legado del Fantasma. Stay tuned for more updates on the release as they become available.
