WWE Reportedly Producing New Television Show On Facebook Live

As the worlds of sports entertainment and modern technology continue to run parallel it only makes sense that some things might eventually come together. There has been talk for a while about WWE producing a show for Facebook and possibly leaving their longtime home on the USA Network. However, all the money WWE would be losing in ad revenue might stand in the way there.

The fact is Facebook Live is a viable form of broadcasting at this point but it’s still in the infant stages in many ways. But Pro Wrestling Sheet reports WWE might be well on their way to testing out this new space.

Of course, plans can always change and it’s reported WWE has changed their minds on this idea a couple of times. But it looks like a weekly show is in the works which would see Survivor Series as not the only place to see Raw battle SmackDown for brand supremacy.

The idea is apparently to film a live show for Facebook following SmackDown Live every week which would mean 205 Live wouldn’t be “live” anymore. But that might be a small price to pay for progress. In case you were wondering, WWE isn’t going to ax 205 Live, but they might move those tapings to before SmackDown goes on the air.

It’s interesting to note WWE also recently registered an interesting trademark for “WWE Mixed Match Challenge.” This kind of name could have several connotations from intergender matches to possibly cross-promotional battles. Only time will tell, but it’s certainly an exciting proposition no matter how it comes out in the wash.
