WWE Reportedly Planning To Give NXT Star Big Push

There are a lot of promising up and coming stars currently working in NXT, and on this week’s episode a feud was seemingly teased between Meredes Martinez and Xia Li.

Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is currently focused on pushing international stars for certain markets. The company wants Chinese stars, and that’s said to be where Xia Li comes in.

It was noted that Xia Li has charisma, and martial arts ability, and that Li is considered to be a project for WWE. The idea is that Mercedes Martinez has been around for 20 years, so WWE is putting her in a feud with Xia Li, and her job is to “season Xia Li.”

According to the report there’s a big movement to have more international stars, as the company also wants a Latin star and an Indian star, which is why WWE is using Jinder Mahal again.
