There are quite a few titles in WWE right now, and you never know when a title might change hands. However, it seems that one title change was nixed due to a controversial tweet.
A few months ago Jaxson Ryker of The Forgotten Sons received a lot of backlash when he posted the following tweet praising President Trump:
“Thankful for the @POTUS we have! God bless America. Built of freedom. Forgotten No More.”
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Forgotten Sons were originally supposed to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, but those plans were nixed.
After Jaxson Ryker posted the tweet Forgotten Sons member Steve Cutler followed up with a tweet that has since been deleted which said, “Although I am part of a tag team while I wrestle, I am my own person with my own thoughts and beliefs. It pains me to see what’s going on in the world. I fought for the freedom of our country and ALL of the people who live here.”
The SmackDown Tag Team Titles are currently held by Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro, and The Forgotten Sons haven’t appeared on SmackDown in some time.
