WWE is a global company and recently the company has been holding major events in other countries such as Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales and the upcoming Money in the Bank premium live event in London, England. Now it seems that the company could be returning to Australia for a big show.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the state government of Western Australia is negotiating with WWE to run a major stadium show. It was noted that this would be similar to when the city of Melbourne made a deal with WWE twice in the past to run two stadium shows.
The likely city for this potential show would be Perth which recently hosted a UFC show. It was also noted that many of the UFC shows that take place outside of the United States are basically local governments trying to bring in UFC for tourism purposes.
WWE’s last stadium show in Australia was Super Show-Down which took place on October 6, 2018, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. The show was headlined by Triple H vs. The Undertaker in a no disqualification match which was dubbed as their last match ever. There’s currently no word on when the next proposed stadium show in Australia could take place. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
