New Japan Pro Wrestling is on the rise, and WWE officials seem to be paying attention. Testuya Naito recently confirmed that WWE offered him a deal, but he made it clear that he wasn’t interested.
“I didn’t even give it thought,” Naito told Tokyo Sports. “This New Japan ring is already the world’s No. 1 stage. The fans know this. That’s why I think we should focus on our home crowd before looking international.”
But it seems that Tetsuya Naito isn’t the only NJPW star on WWE’s radar.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Naito is one of three top guys that WWE has sent feelers to.
The two stars reportedly didn’t turn down the offers without giving them some thought, but it’s being said that one of them would be a huge surprise, and the other wouldn’t have reservations about moving to the US to work for WWE.
