Business has picked up in the WWE tag team division in recent months and earlier this month fans saw The Judgment Day defeat Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
Now that The Judgment Day have the Undisputed Tag Team Titles they’re free to appear on any show they choose as Raw and SmackDown do now have exclusive belts at the moment. The Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championship have been unified ever since The Usos defeated RK-Bro in May of 2022, but it looks like that could be changing in the near future.
One fan asked the BWE X account if there are plans to split up the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles soon, and BWE indicated that it will be happening very soon.
It’s not clear at this point how WWE will split the belts, but it seems that the split is long overdue, and could go a long way when it comes to establishing separate tag team programs for Raw and SmackDown. With WWE introduced new championship belts in recent months it will be interesting to see if the same thing happens for the tag team division when the split occurs. Stay tuned for updates.
