Since All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 fans have seen a number of former WWE stars join the company, but it’s far less common to see AEW stars jump to WWE.
Last year Cody Rhodes parted ways with AEW to return to WWE, and he has since gone on to main event WrestleMania and feud with big names like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Now it seems that WWE could have their eyes on more AEW stars.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that several AEW contracts are set to expire at the end of the year, and WWE is expected to pursue key talent.
“There are AEW contracts that are coming due at the end of the year. Several of them. Many of them, and WWE obviously will be pursuing all of them, or all the ones that are key ones that they could get.”
There’s currently no word on which wrestlers WWE is trying to sign, but it’s been reported that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have deals that are coming up, and MJF has openly stated that he would be interested in possibly joining WWE in 2024.
