WWE has been searching for someone to be their top Hispanic star for quite some time now but they can’t seem to find the right fit. Alberto Del Rio was obviously a pretty big name for the company during his run there and now PWInsider is reporting that WWE is interested in bringing Alberto Del Rio back.
It’s unknown if the two sides are talking, but there is said to be interest on WWE’s side. Alberto has been working as Alberto El Patron in Lucha Underground which was recently confirmed for a second season, although Alberto has denied claims that he’s signed on for season two.
Before parting ways with the company in 2014 after an incident backstage, Del Rio was one of the bigger names in WWE. Alberto is a two time WWE Champion, a two time World Heavyweight Champion, a former Money in the Bank winner and the winner of the largest Royal Rumble in history so he certainly left his mark on the WWE during his run.
The WWE’s search for a top Hispanic star continues. But for now you can add Alberto Del Rio, along with Carlito, to the list of rumored names the company is interested in bringing back.
