It was a big weekend for the stars of Impact Wrestling as their annual Slammiversary event aired live on pay-per-view. Nick Aldis challenged Alex Shelley for the Impact Wrestling World Championship in the main event, but unfortunately for Aldis he was defeated by Shelley.
Nick Aldis announced last year that he would be parting ways with NWA, and it was rumored that WWE had interest in him. However, ultimately things didn’t work out and the former NWA World Champion returned to Impact Wrestling back in April. Following his match with Alex Shelley at Slammiversary over the weekend it was reported that Aldis is now done with Impact.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that numerous WWE sources confirmed the company has “high interest” in Nick Aldis now that he is free and clear. According to the report Nick Aldis’ name is being discussed for a potential producer role with the company. The word going around is that he may go through a trial process for the role that could begin as soon as next month.
One way or another Nick Aldis is now a free agent, so it will be interesting to see where the former Impact Wrestling World Champion ends up in the future. Stay tuned for updates.
