When the coronavirus pandemic hit the wrestling industry WWE moved their TV tapings to the Performance Center, and then eventually to the ThunderDome. The company returned to the road last month, and fans returned to WWE events, but it sounds like WWE officials are already preparing for the worst.
Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net is reporting that WWE expect they will have to return to the Performance Center, or another venue for the ThunderDome within the next few weeks.
It’s also being reported that company sources have claimed the feeling internally is that SummerSlam can/will be cancelled. The feeling is that the company won’t be on the road in four weeks as there is concern about “how they will be able to proceed in a non-contained environment.”
The belief in WWE is that they don’t expect more lockdowns, but it’s anticipated that bans on mass gatherings will come down over the next few weeks.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
