There are only so many titles on Monday Night Raw, and currently Brock Lesnar is the Universal Champion while Seth Rollins is the man carrying the Intercontinental Championship.
Recently Seth Rollins also won the Raw Tag Team Titles with Dean Ambrose, but shortly after they won the belts Ambrose turned on Rollins. However, WrestleVotes is reporting that Ambrose’s turn was supposed to involve a different title.
According to the report, Ambrose was originally going to turn on Rollins and cost him the Intercontinental Title, which he would have dropped to Elias.
However, WWE has had to reshuffle the deck in a major way and change creative plans due to Roman Reigns’ leukemia diagnosis.
Interesting tidbit for those who like this type of thing: prior to all of RAWs creative plans going up in flames last month, the original Ambrose heel turn angle was to see him cost Rollins the IC title. Who was scheduled to win the strap you ask? Elias.
