Last year WWE made the call to expand the NXT brand, and the Wednesday night show moved to the USA Network and it was switched to a live two hour format.
This week NXT Super Tuesday aired on Tuesday night on USA Network due to the NHL playoffs, and NXT will be airing on Tuesday once again next week.
WrestleVotes is now reporting that over the past month or so WWE officials have been discussing the idea of moving NXT off Wednesday nights. It’s being said that a decision is not imminent, but the viewership numbers for the next 2 weeks could have an impact on NXT moving.
It’s not clear at this point if Tuesday is being considered for the new night.
Since October of 2019, AEW and NXT have been going head to head on Wednesday nights, and AEW has come out ahead in viewership for the majority of the weeks that the two shows have been competing. No word on whether or not that has something to do with WWE discussing the idea of moving NXT, but stay tuned for updates.
