Now that Elimination Chamber has come and gone all eyes are looking ahead to WrestleMania, and it seems that the pieces are starting to fall into place for WWE’s biggest show of the year.

We learned a few weeks ago that Ronda Rousey will be challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania, and Bianca Belair earned at shot at Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Title at Elimination Chamber. However, it sounds like WWE originally considered taking the women’s title picture in a different direction on the grandest stage of them all.

Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport is reporting that back in November WWE was seriously considering a Four Horsewomen fatal four way main event for WrestleMania. The match would have seen Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bayley face off, and the idea was for the Four Horsewomen to close out night 1 of the big show.

WWE reportedly changed course due to a number of reasons with the main reason being the return of Ronda Rousey. The feeling was that Ronda Rousey should be involved in a top title match, and there’s also a desire from several people in the company to finish the Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair feud at WrestleMania.

Even though WWE won’t be pulling the trigger on a Four Horsewomen match at WrestleMania this year it’s being said that the match is something WWE is, “actively looking to do before too long.”

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
