This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw was the big season premiere episode, and the show featured a 25th anniversary celebration for D-Generation X. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac and Road Dogg all appeared on the show, but Billy Gunn was absent.
Billy Gunn currently works for AEW where he is aligned with AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed. According to Fightful Select, WWE at least tossed around the idea of trying to get Billy Gunn for the DX reunion on Raw.
Ultimately Billy Gunn did not appear on Monday Night Raw this week, but he was acknowledged when Road Dogg did the intro for the New Age Outlaws. After saying his own name as part of the intro Road Dogg pointed the microphone to the crowd who followed up by saying, “the Bad A** Billy Gunn.”
In recent months The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn have become one of the most popular acts in AEW with the “Scissor Me Daddy A**” shirt becoming AEW’s highest selling shirt of 2022 so far.
