It’s not big secret that there are a number of words that can’t be said on WWE programming, and over the last year or so the company has refrained from letting announcers mention certain cities that their TV tapings take place from.
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw took place from Greenville, SC and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the powers that be decided “Greenville” sounded too “bush league.” The city was not mentioned, and instead the show’s location was simply referred to as “South Carolina.”
The show drew 5,200 fans with just over 4,000 paid. It’s also being reported that Brock Lesnar moved 800 tickets after he was announced for this week’s episode of Raw.
The next episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is set to take place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA on Monday, January 10th and it will continue the buildup for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Stay tuned for updates.
