WWE SmackDown Live is loaded with top stars such as John Cena, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose and more. Most fans seem to agree that SmackDown is superior to Raw at the moment, but the SmackDown Live roster just got a little bit smaller.
Kenny and Mikey of The Spirit Squad have been removed from the SmackDown Live roster, so it appears that their run with WWE is officially over.
The Spirit Squad returned last year and they got involved in Dolph Ziggler’s feud with The Miz. As most fans already know, Dolph Ziggler is a former member of The Spirit Squad, and his status as a male cheerleader was a big point on contention between Miz and Ziggler leading up to the Career vs. Title match at No Mercy in September of 2016.
It appears that Kenny Dykstra had high hopes for the return of The Spirit Squad, as it was reported back in November of 2016 that he was fired from his day job after he missed an excessive amount of days due to his WWE appearances.
It doesn’t look like WWE officials and Kenny Dykstra were on the same page, as ultimately they decided not to sign him to a new deal.
Both Mikey and Kenny have been moved to the alumni section on WWE’s website.
