Last week another wave of talents were released from WWE when the company parted ways with 18 Superstars. There were certainly some surprising names on the list, but it looks like the releases may not be over.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that in addition to the 18 wrestlers who got cut there were another 10 Superstars who were considered for the releases. It’s being said that people who weren’t being used well were on the bubble when it came to the recent cuts.
Older veteran talents in NXT who haven’t been on TV were discussed, and it was speculated that WWE could ultimately end up cutting some of the talents who were considered during the recent round of releases.
Meltzer noted that Tommaso Ciampa and a few other stars might be safe because they are legacy stars in NXT, and WWE will want them around to help transition into the new era with NXT 2.0. Talents like Danny Burch and Timothy Thatcher, along with “everyone in their 30s that’s not on TV right now” are reportedly on the bubble.
