WWE is always trying to freshen up their product. Sometimes this involves cutting some people from the talent pool in an attempt to keep things current. After all, they have an entire roster of incredible NXT talent all ready to step up and grab the brass ring.
Emma was released from her WWE contract one week after Asuka made her jump to the WWE main roster. Darren Young and Summer Rae have also been wished the best in their future endeavors as well. WWE’s first Australian female Superstar fought as hard as she could to topple The Empress Of Tomorrow but it wasn’t enough to defeat Asuka. After all, nobody’s ready for Asuka. She was also unsuccessful the next night on Raw.
But now Pro Wrestling Sheet’s James McKenna is saying Emma might not be the only name on WWE’s chopping block.
He said there are likely going to be a few more Superstars getting their “papers” today. WWE is rather good at wishing people the best in their future endeavors and has done so many times in the past. But this might be an interesting time to cut some talent considering the fact WWE just released their numbers for the last quarter of financials (which were pretty good all things considering).
No names have been confirmed other than Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae, but some have speculated Dolph Ziggler could be on his way out. Rumors are his contract is set to expire in October and since we don’t have much time left in October then there could be some weight to that assessment.
We’ll just have to wait and see. But there’s a possibility the world’s excellent independent wrestling scene might get some new additions soon enough.
