This is a rather shocking turn of events. Just when you think that there’s going to be a hope for a career resurgence doesn’t mean those plans are held across the board in WWE.
Emma recently received the honor of being Asuka’s first opponent on WWE’s main roster and had a pretty decent match. It surprised a lot of people considering the fact most assumed it would be a squash match. However, Emma put up a fight and did the same thing the next night on Raw as well. However, Asuka still won both encounters by submission.
Some people were under the mindset Emma could be in line for some kind of a heel push on the Raw roster. After all, with Alicia Fox heading up the women’s Survivor Series team for the Red Team, some thought the Raw side would be all heels and would feature Emma in some capacity.
It looks like the best-laid plans of mice and men have gone awry once again as Emma and WWE have ended things in a rather surprising announcement just one week after Emma’s huge match against Asuka.
The founder of the WWE Women’s Revolution is apparently no more and it doesn’t appear she’ll be reinstated later today like she was the last time she was released for accidentally lifting an iPad case.
This is a disappointing ending to her run with WWE because there were some big hopes for WWE’s first-ever Austrailian female Superstar. She made it all the way to the finals in the tournament to decide the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion. Emma didn’t win the title while in NXT and somewhat floundered in a comedy role when she made it to WWE’s main roster. But she still pressed on while demanding attention all the while.
They tried to repackage Emma into Emmalina but that was historically a bust. Now it looks like she’s going to try her luck elsewhere. But we’re sure Emma will be fine. After all, when you look like Tenille Averil Dashwood it’s kind of hard to really fail at much.
WWE has also announced the releases of Darren Young and Summer Rae as well. With neither of these Superstars appearing on Raw recently it’s really not surprising. But Young’s release is somewhat puzzling seeing how he is so ingrained in WWE’s partnership with the LTBGQ community.
