There are several ways that a WWE Superstar can win a match. In addition to more traditional means such as a pinfall or submission, wrestlers can also win bouts via disqualification or count out.
WWE referee Charles Robinson was recently a guest on Prime Time with Sean Mooney, and he explained Vince McMahon’s mindset when it comes to count outs.
According to Robinson, Vince McMahon told the referees that if wrestlers aren’t paying attention to the ten count while they’re outside the ring, then the refs should just count them out.
Robinson also noted that one thing referees often do is hold up counts after eight if they realize the wrestler might not make it back in the ring by ten.
