On Sunday night Seth Rollins defended his Universal Championship against Bray Wyatt inside Hell in a Cell, and the match came to an end when it was stopped by the referee.
Rollins stacked several objects on The Fiend’s head, and then slammed a sledgehammer into them when the ref called for the bell.
On a recent episode of the WWE show The Bump an official statement from referee Rod Zapata was shown and it reads as follows:
“With Bray motionless, and Seth clearly doing whatever it was going to take to win that match. I had to think of the competitor’s safety and at that moment, I did what I thought was best.”
