Last week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw had a special Legends Night theme, and the show featured many familiar names from the past. After Raw was over RETRIBUTION leader Mustafa Ali appeared on Raw Talk, and he ripped on Legends Night saying that it was exactly what’s wrong with WWE.
Mustafa Ali also acknowledge the fake crowd noise when he said that WWE, “pumped the cheers real good.” Ali later created speculation that his promo rubbed some people the wrong way when he posted a tweet saying, “we don’t know if we can give you a live mic again.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently addressed the backstage reaction to the promo, and he claimed that someone in WWE took exception to Ali acknowledging the fake crowd noise.
“I had heard that there was someone who took exception to him making light that they pipe in stuff… I asked about this, I was like, ‘What would anyone be mad at?’ And they’re like, ‘Well he said that they piped in noise.’ I said, ‘They do!’ And this person said, ‘Yeah, but we don’t want them going out there and saying that.’ I’m like, ‘Why not? It’s obvious. It’s okay. Baseball does it. Football does it. Basketball does it. Don’t treat us like we’re stupid.'”
