Professional wrestling certainly isn’t ballet, and unfortunately injuries do happen from time to time. Last week on Monday Night Raw, Ivar of the Viking Raiders suffered an injury when he did a suicide dive to the outside. WWE later announced that he suffered a cervical injury during the match.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that Ivar’s injury is serious, and he’s set to undergo neck surgery in Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday.
At this point there’s no timetable for his return.
Ivar commented on the injury on Twitter when he posted the following:
“From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to every single friend, family and fan who has reached out to me. My heart is truly touched from all the love and support. Still figuring it all out but I am working hard to recover and be better than ever! Love you all”
