Just yesterday the Internet was buzzing about John Cena after everyone got a look at his new merchandise. Cena is returning on Monday and WWE released some new gear to hype up his return. The new gear was inspired by the Pabst Blue Ribbon design and it looked pretty sweet, but PBR just wasn’t feeling it. They sealed John Cena’s fate with a middle finger emoji after the shirts went up for sale.
WWE has now pulled the merchandise from WWEShop.com so if you were planning on buying one of those shirts, you’re going to have to change your plans. A rep for WWE issued the following comments to Pro Wrestling Sheet, “As a content creator, WWE respects trademarks and intellectual property, and therefore will not proceed selling the merchandise, despite it being an original design clearly within fair use.”
