WWE Extreme Rules is just a week away and there is always the potential for some hardcore activity. To get into the spirit of impending bodily harm, WWE posted a video of superstars taking bumps through glass.
It’s a very quick and high action video. It moves fast but some of the highlights are Shane McMahon’s glass breaking antics with both Kurt Angle and AJ Styles. There are also a few Elimination Chamber glass breaking spots too. They even put in a couple that were almost botched including that awful one with Goldberg and Triple H at Summerslam in 2003.
The video features some great footage of smashing car windows starring the likes of John Cena and Eddie Guerrero. Of course, WWE included the historic Rocker’s Barber Shop angle where Shawn Michaels finally made the move to set out on his own.
We’re not sure if there is any potential for glass breaking at Extreme Rules, but we can always cross our fingers.
The main event of the evening will be a fatal 5-way match to determine the #1 contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship. The stipulation hasn’t been announced for the match but judging from the way WWE can throw one in at the last minute there’s always the chance it could be anything.
If they had a Dinner For 5 Match in a restaurant there would be plenty of breaking plates and there’s always the possibility of getting a fork involved. It could be like Dinner For Schmucks with even more violence.
Or an Iron Circle match would be excellent. Wouldn’t you love to see Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, and Bray Wyatt tangle in a circle of cars? The brutality would be earth shattering. Broken glass and the blaring of car alarms would echo throughout the arena. Then Braun Strowman could run in and throw all the cars across the parking lot like the Incredible Hulk and win the match without being in it.
It may be a long shot. But it’s like John Lennon once said, “you might say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not.”
