The WWE tag team division has gone through some major changes over the last few years as new teams have entered the division, while other teams have split up and gone their separate ways. Recently WWE put Rey Fenix & Andrade together as a team, but their run was short lived as Andrade’s WWE departure was confirmed over the weekend.
Bodyslam.net is reporting that originally Andrade & Rey Fenix were set to continue chasing the tag team titles with a match at Clash in Paris. Sources also indicated that they were also in line to win the belts at one point.
However, it’s being said that creative plans for Rey Fenix are now being reshuffled due to Andrade’s WWE departure. Sources have indicated that there is talk of WWE reuniting The Lucha Bros, but nothing has been confirmed just yet, and there are no imminent plans as of right now.
Currently Penta is on the Monday Night Raw brand while Rey Fenix is featured on Friday Night SmackDown. Last week on SmackDown, Rey Fenix challenged Sami Zayn for the United States Championship, and he recently commented on the match when he posted the following:
“Last Friday I took the opportunity in the open challenge to face the United States Champion Samy Zayn. I didn’t win the match but it was a great match and I’m very happy with my work that night, soon i will be a @wwe Champion! I’m ready for the big challenges! #AN1M0”
