WrestleMania is easily WWE’s biggest show of the year, but this year WWE had to move the event from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL to the Performance Center in Orlando.
SummerSlam is currently scheduled to take place from Boston, MA on Sunday, August 23 but Boston Mayor Marty Walsh recently announced that parades and festivals will not be taking place in the city through at least September 7, and that promoters looking to put on events with large crowds should start looking into alternative locations.
Now WrestleVotes is reporting that WWE wants SummerSlam to remain as is, but that the company is actively looking for a new location that would allow fans to attend the show.
Florida and Georgia were named as possible locations.
It’s also being reported that WWE may consider pushing SummerSlam back to September. There’s currently no word on the company’s plans for NXT TakeOver.
Stay tuned for more updates on SummerSlam as they become available.
