You never know who might make an appearance when you watch a WWE premium live event as Goldberg happened to be in the front row at Bad Blood back in October. Goldberg got into a heated confrontation with Gunther, and it seemed that WWE was teasing a potential Goldberg vs. Gunther match down the line.
Last month Goldberg officially announced that he will be returning to the ring for a retirement match in 2025. The Hall of Famer teased that Gunther could be his opponent, but it looks like WWE may be moving in a different direction.
Viper of PWN is reporting that Goldberg is currently set to return to WWE in early 2025. It appears that the plan is for Goldberg to compete in “one or two” matches before retiring and riding off into the sunset once and for all. It was noted that WWE originally had interest in a potential Goldberg vs. Gunther match, but the company may have moved away from that idea.
