The end of John Cena’s farewell tour is quickly approaching as he only has four dates left before he officially retires for good. It’s been a big year for John Cena as he won his 17th world championship at WrestleMania, and it looks like he could be adding another championship to his resume before he’s done.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Dominik Mysterio is the current favorite to walk out of Saturday Night’s Main Event with the Intercontinental Championship. According to the report the plan as of a few weeks ago was for John Cena to win the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik at Survivor Series, and defend the belt against Gunther in his retirement match.

The Intercontinental Championship is the one title that John Cena has never held, so if he does indeed win the belt at Survivor Series it will be a huge milestone for his career as it will solidify him as a WWE Grand Slam Champion.

John Cena’s next scheduled appearance is set for Raw on November 10th at the TD Garden in Boston, MA and he will be making his final appearance on Raw the following week when the show emanates from Madison Square Garden on November 17th. From there he will only have Survivor Series on November 29th and Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th left on his schedule.
