Over the last few months fans have been wondering what the future holds for the members of The Elite, but recently many of the questions have been answered.
The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and Adam Page have all signed with AEW, despite the fact that WWE reportedly made them big offers.
Not only did WWE offer offer The Elite contracts, they also pitched a storyline for the group.
Dave Meltzer was asked if a storyline had been pitched for The Elite heading into WrestleMania season, and he noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE pitched a major invasion storyline.
All of the aforementioned talents are now locked into deals with AEW, and they seem to be committed to the company for the long haul.
We’ll never know how the invasion angle might have went if The Elite had signed with WWE, but the group has done a great job of shaking up the professional wrestling industry, so it’s probably safe to say that the rest of 2019 will be very interesting.
