The WWE officials were originally disappointed with the reaction that “The Animal” Dave Batista got when he made his return to WWE programming. It was reported that at first they were upset over the lack of cheers he received and were surprised it didn’t top the reaction Brock Lesnar got when he returned.
After learning that ratings were high for his return, WWE then shifted the blame towards the fans in Dayton, Ohio. The feeling backstage now is that Dayton won’t be getting a live pay-per-view anytime soon.
